“Gospel” means “good news.” The Gospel is the good news that all men and women are invited to be reconciled to God through faith in Jesus Christ, the Son of God. God invites His people of faith to Gather together around the gospel and allow the Holy Spirit to Grow us up into Christ-like maturity. As we grow, we learn to Give out of our time, talents and treasure because God is a giver, and He wants us to be like Him. We are then called to Go and take the good news to the whole world so that all may know the saving and healing power of Jesus Christ.
This summarizes the Great Commandment and the Great Commission, the two passages that we base our Church strategy and plan upon.
Matthew 28:18-20 ESV 18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Mark 12:30-31 ESV 30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ 31 The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”
C.L.A.S.S – Christian Life and Service Seminars
A church should feel like a family. It shouldn't feel like an event to attend, but a place to belong. That's why our classes are important – because we weren't meant to go through life alone. When it comes to discovering your relationship with God, finding your purpose in life, using your God-given gifts to serve, and surrounding yourself with community, we're giving you a deliberate, Biblical path to follow.
River of Life has four core classes that help us discover our purpose in Jesus Christ as we apply the Gospel to our lives and Gather, Grow, Give and Go – together in Christ.
Gather: CLASS 101 – Discovering Our Church Family - September 13th, 2020 9:30am - 2:30pm
Class 101 is designed to help you understand your relationship with God and His family, the Church. God loves us, and we have the privilege of knowing God and representing Him to our world! He calls us to do this together with local expressions of His family, local churches. This class helps you understand the history of River of Life and how to get connected to our church family. If you decide that River of Life is the right fit for you, you can learn what next steps you can take to get more involved and begin intentionally discovering your purpose in Christ together with our church family.
Grow: CLASS 201 – Discovering Spiritual Maturity - Sunday mornings October 4-25 9am-10am
Life wasn't meant to be lived standing still. We should always be moving, learning, and growing as people and as followers of Jesus. Christian growth is a lifelong opportunity, and Class 201 is designed to teach you about a few simple but profound life-long habits that will help you grow and mature as a Christian. In 201, you will learn how to develop a daily time with God through understanding His word, the Bible, and enjoying Him in prayer. Class 201 will help you pursue intentional relationships centered in Christ and the joy and fulfillment of learning to become a giver like God.
Give: CLASS 301 – Discovering My MinistryWhat you do with your life matters to God. You were created for a purpose!
